Creative workshops in Sant Antoni : painting, candles and jewellery at Rosa
At Rosa, people don't just come for a drink. Every so often, the bar transforms : tables fill up with brushes, thread, wax or little pieces of jewellery, and the atmosphere becomes that of a workshop among friends. That's what the creative workshops in Sant Antoni hosted regularly at Rosa look like.
A space open to creators
Rosa doesn't organise the workshops, it hosts them. The idea is simple : open the bar's doors to artists and creators, whether based in Barcelona or just passing through, so they can share their craft with anyone keen to learn something new, drink in hand. Painting, candles, jewellery... every month brings a different offering.
Workshops take place roughly once a week to once every two weeks (with a break over summer), last between 1.5 and 2 hours, and cost around €15-30. Groups stay small, under 20 people, to keep the atmosphere close-knit and relaxed.
Studio Meva DIY, one of our collaborations
Among the creators who've come through Rosa is Studio Meva DIY, a project run by a French creator who's been based in Barcelona for several years. Her concept : giving a second life to reclaimed materials, turning them into home decor or everyday accessories.
Normally, Studio Meva DIY sells creation kits to her followers, but at Rosa, the concept becomes a live workshop. Creative materials are included, along with a drink of choice from the menu. Past workshops have included two vinyl-painting sessions, and one where guests made a candle shaped like the Rosa, the bar's signature cocktail.
